Love Allows

Standard

God, You are love. We are created in Your image. That means we are love too. Simple. Period. End of story. Oh wait, that means we can’t cuss people out. Love does not utter the words that proceed out of the mouths of characters from R-rated movies. (In my personal opinion, that displays no character at all. I can say that because I used to have a mouth on me that God didn’t exactly smile down on.) We can’t cut people off on the interstate. Love allows others to go first. We can’t complain all the time. Love fills its mind with things that are pure and lovely and noble and good. We can’t want for things we don’t have and others do. Love is not jealous and look on others’ things with envy. Hurry! Hurry! Hurry!! We don’t even know why we’re hurrying, but we know we must! Get it done, get it over with, hurry!! Nope, love is patient.
We cannot allow others or the enemy to dictate or determine what we do or how we do things, how we go about our day. We are believers and we are to allow the ALMIGHTY GOD HIMSELF to show us the way. What was that? We are to “allow” Him? That’s one of the most ridiculous things I’ve ever typed. We have the control in this relationship, which is where I sometimes think God may have messed up. *gasp. God does not force His will or His ideas on anyone. We get to choose whether or not He will reign in our lives and if we give Him the reins, He’ll show us how the abundant life is ours for the taking. He promises He will! He does! What more could we possibly ask for? What is more important than letting Him lead us? Getting dinner on the table in 20.54 minutes or less? Getting to work an hour early and staying an hour late? Watching that show where people drop 100 pounds in less than a week or the one where every females sleeps with every male within a 250 mile radius? (God bless you, sweet girl, you’re worth so much more than that.) Nope, nothing. Nothing is more important than time with the Creator. Everything else can wait, until we’ve checked in with Him. Check in to see what He wants for the day, the week, the hour. Thank You God that we’re “allowed” to do just that.

About chronicchristian

I am a mother of 2, married to the best man in the world for 10 years and chasing after what God wants for my life. I currently deal with some symptoms some like to refer to as Chronic Fatigue Syndrome. I refer to them as past symptoms as I believe God is doing something awesome and she who guards her lips guards her life. This blog is good therapy. Maybe not for you, but definitely for me. God is good and I intend to prove it.

  1. You are precious, do you know that? God has us spiritually connected. This goes right along with what I’m getting ready to post. Glad to see you back on the writing front, Sis!
